Lexington's outdoor burning ban has been lifted, officials announced Thursday.
Permits still are required from the fire department for all fires that are not in a contained area, such as an outdoor fireplace or fire pit. Questions should be directed to Fire Marshal James Branham at 859-231-5602.

The ban was imposed Sept. 26 because lack of rain had created extremely dry conditions.
