It was unclear whether Pack was trying to jump onto one of the trailers or simply crossing between the two, according to a news release from Lexington police. Alcohol might have been a factor in the incident, police said.
Pack was hit and dragged by the second trailer when the signal turned green and the truck continued outbound on Leestown, police said.
The tractor-trailer was located in Louisville several hours later.
The driver, Jesse M. White, of Clay City, told police he did not know a pedestrian had been hit.
The truck belongs to Shull Processing of Clay City.
Pack, who died of multiple blunt force trauma, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a coroner's report.
