The Fayette County Clerk's Office is holding a retirement reception in honor of former Clerk Don Blevins. from 2 to 4 p.m. Tuesday in the ballroom of the Urban County Government Center, 200 East Main Street.

Blevins, 71, retired on Jan. 1 after serving 27 years as county clerk. Prior to that, Blevins served eight years as a member of the Urban County Council. Fayette County Judge-Executive Sandra Varellas appointed Blevins' son, Don Blevins Jr. to serve out his father's four-year term, which expires Jan. 3, 2011.
