A University of Kentucky physician and husband of former Lexington Mayor Pam Miller was seriously injured in a hang-gliding accident in Mexico last week.
Pam Miller, who wasn't with her husband on the trip, flew to Mexico City over the weekend, said Bob King, president of the Council on Postsecondary Education in explaining Miller's absence from the council meeting Monday. King said Miller reported that her husband is still in critical condition but is showing signs of improvement.
Ralph Miller, 75, is a faculty member in endocrinology and molecular medicine department at UK and is a former Olympic skier who competed in the 1956 D'Ampezzo, Italy, winter games in the giant slalom, slalom and downhill events.
