Three Speedway convenience stores in Lexington now offer recycling in a pilot program.
The stores on Winchester, Leestown and Boston roads have bins at each fuel island to take plastic beverage bottles, aluminum cans, and newspapers and magazines.
No glass is accepted. The program, carried out in conjunction with the city's Department of Environmental Quality, will end June 30, but officials said it could be expanded if it proves successful.
