Mayor Jim Newberry appointed Linda L. Rumpke to be Commissioner of Finance and Administration on Tuesday, subject to confirmation by Urban County Council. Rumpke comes to the city from JPMorgan Chase & Co., where she was president of Chase bank in Lexington and managing director of J.P. Morgan's Private Wealth Management.
She will supervise the divisions of revenue, accounting, purchase, human resources and community development. Her first day with the city will be Oct. 15.
Rumpke replaces Bill O'Mara, who has served as acting commissioner of Finance and Administration since February. O'Mara will return to his former position as director of the division of revenue, a job he has held since 1995.
Donald Hellman, manager of Chase's commercial and equine banking in Lexington, has been promoted to president of Chase.
