Take Steps for Crohn's & Colitis takes place at 4 p.m. Saturday at the Courthouse Plaza. Short Street will be closed between North Limestone and Martin Luther King Boulevard from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
The Festival of Choirs takes place at 4 p.m. Saturday at Kentucky Clinic North. From 2-7 p.m., Elm Tree Lane and all intersecting streets will be closed from Second to Third streets.
Expect heavy traffic downtown along High and Vine Streets and Broadway on Sunday night due to a concert by Alan Jackson at Rupp Arena.
Sidewalks along Man o' War Boulevard and Liberty and Todds roads are closed for ongoing construction. Lanes have been reduced to one through lane in each direction on Liberty and Todds.
Here's how the Newtown Pike project is affecting traffic patterns: Cox Street is closed at Main Street and will reopen Sept. 1 under the name of Newtown Pike; Manchester Street will be closed from Cox to Pine streets and will reopen May 31. Signed detours will be in place for all the closed areas
Major traffic impact
Streetscape project: Rotating one-lane closures will occur on West Main Street from Limestone to Broadway from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 6 to 10 p.m. through Aug. 20. Rotating one-lane closures also will occur on West Vine Street from Broadway to Limestone from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 6 to 10 p.m. through Aug. 20.
South Limestone project update: South Limestone remains closed to through traffic from Avenue of Champions to Vine Street. Northbound motorists on Nicholasville Road/Limestone who normally use Limestone to commute downtown should follow the detour signs that identify a detour at Virginia Avenue to South Broadway. Westbound motorists on Euclid/Avenue of Champions can take Martin Luther King Boulevard to Main Street. Various lanes of West Vine Street will be closed between South Broadway and South Limestone for construction work from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. if necessary. Two lanes will remain open, and work is scheduled to be completed by May 28.
The inbound and outbound left lanes and turn lanes of North Broadway will be blocked between West Fifth and West Sixth streets from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. through June 11 for utility work.
Significant traffic impact
Parts of Fontaine and Chinoe roads will be blocked as needed through 4 p.m. Monday for tree removal.
Parts of North Limestone at East Short Street will be blocked as needed between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. through Wednesday for conduit installation.
The Alexandria Drive and Lane Allen Road intersection will be blocked as needed between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. through Friday for milling and paving.
The right curb lane and sidewalk near the intersection of East High Street at Woodland Avenue will be blocked between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. through Friday for sidewalk replacement.
Various lanes of East Main Street at Walton Avenue will be blocked at times between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. through Friday for water service and main work.
The right inbound lane of North Broadway between Ridge and Cane Run roads will be blocked as needed between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. through Friday for manhole work.
Oak Hill Drive between Highland Drive and Carlisle Avenue will be blocked 24 hours a day through May 28 for a storm sewer installation. Local access will be allowed.
The northbound lane of Lexington Avenue will be blocked between Euclid Avenue and East Maxwell Street 24 hours a day through Friday for construction work. Traffic will be shifted, using the parking lane as a traffic lane.
Pine Meadow Road will be closed 24 hours a day between Summerville and Pinkney drives through June 18 to replace sewer lines. The suggested detour is Pine Meadow to Summerville to Beacon Hill.
The inbound right lane and sidewalk area of West Main Street will be blocked from Cox to West Vine streets through May 28 for road work.
Leesway Drive will be closed as required at Leestown Road between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. through Friday to install a new sewer system.
The northbound curb lane of Elm Tree Lane will be blocked at East Third Street 24 hours a day through July 16 for work on the Lyric Theater.
One lane at a time of East Maxwell Street will be blocked between Rose Street and Woodland Avenue through June 1 for work in the intersection.
The left lane and parking lane of East Maxwell Street will be blocked between Rose Street and Arlington Avenue through June 1 to install a water main.
Moderate traffic impact
The right lane of East Maxwell Street between South Limestone and South Martin Luther King Boulevard will be blocked between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. through Tuesday for sewer work.
The right turn lane on Nicholasville Road between Hiltonia Park and Alumni Drive will be closed between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. through Wednesday for telephone work.
The left lane, parking and sidewalk area of West Short Street between North Upper Street and North Limestone will be blocked between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. through Friday for conduit work.
Arceme Avenue will be closed to through traffic between North Limestone and Bryan Avenue from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. through Friday for sewer work.
The sidewalk and one traffic lane of East Short Street will be blocked between North Limestone and North Martin Luther King Boulevard through Friday for utility work.
Various lanes of Vine Street will be blocked from Broadway to Limestone streets from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. through Friday for construction work.
Sidewalks on East High Street and Woodland Avenue will be blocked 24 hours a day by construction through Friday.
