A public meeting seeking input on preliminary plans to redesign the intersection of High Street and Euclid Avenue in the Chevy Chase neighborhood will be held at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at Faith Lutheran Church, 1000 Tates Creek Road.
The city, working with the state Department of Transportation, is planning a redesign of the congested intersection. The meeting will concentrate on gathering ideas for "improving the functionality of the intersection" by improving traffic flow, and bicycle and pedestrian safety, said Kenzie Gleason, the city's bike and pedestrian coordinator.
"We've laid out some ideas," she said. "We're asking people to react to them."
Improvements are tied to funding, and the city has no money at this time, Gleason said. The city will apply for a federal grant, she said.
