A motorcycle and trailer that were to be auctioned to benefit the Lexington affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure were stolen during the weekend, said Penny Gilbert, executive director.
The 2010 Harley-Davidson Sportster, which was locked inside the trailer, had been painted pink and signed by a number of country music stars, including Dolly Parton, Tim McGraw and Taylor Swift.
The trailer was secured by chains and had been parked in the organization's parking lot in the Hamburg area. Employees returning to work Monday morning noticed it was missing and contacted police.
Gilbert said the bike was valued at $15,000 without the custom paint job and autographs. The trailer was valued at $5,000. Both had been donated by Wildcat Harley-Davidson of London.
"We had really hoped to achieve about $100,000" by auctioning the items before the foundation's Race for the Cure on Oct. 16, Gilbert said. "We've missed that opportunity now."
Susan G. Komen for the Cure supports research and early detection efforts for breast cancer.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Lexington police department.
