Headley-Whitney Museum has a banner exhibit
The Headley-Whitney Museum announces the Drive-Thru Art Show featuring banners created by and for the community displayed on light poles in downtown Lexington through Feb. 26.
The project was established to challenge Lexington residents to reflect on their perception of art. Teaming with the Spotlight Lexington Festival during the World Equestrian Games, the museum asked approximately 50 participants ages 2 to 30, "What word would you use to sum up art?"
While painting the banners, participants reflected on the question and gave the inspiring answers found in the show. Drive-Thru Art Show consists of eight double-sided banners with 16 phrases about art.
