The ramp from the inner loop of New Circle Road to Harrodsburg Road, which closed at 7 p.m. Thursday, will remain closed until 6 a.m. Monday, the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet said. Lexington police suggest that drivers use Nicholasville Road to Man o' War Boulevard or Versailles Road to Man o' War as alternate routes.

The closing is part of a project to reconfigure the Harrodsburg-New Circle interchange into what's known as a double crossover diamond.

The goal is to boost capacity on Harrodsburg Road between Pasadena and Corporate drives. The configuration will eliminate left turns that require drivers to cross in front of oncoming traffic, instead giving drivers access to New Circle on-ramps from the left lane.

The Transportation Cabinet will hold a public meeting from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Southern Hills United Methodist Church, 2356 Harrodsburg Road, to answer questions about the project, which is scheduled to be complete by Nov. 15.
