Special Notes

The Roots and Heritage Festival will have the following effect on city streets Thursday through Sunday:

Elm Tree Lane will be closed from Short to Fourth streets from noon Thursday to 5 p.m. Sunday.

Corral Street will be closed between Elm Tree Lane and Martin Luther King Boulevard.

Third Street will be closed between Martin Luther King Boulevard and Rose Street.

Other streets might be closed as needed.

The Division of Traffic Engineering will install three-way stop sign controls at Pink Pigeon Parkway and Plaudit Place on Friday, weather permitting. Motorists should use caution at the intersection while traffic adjusts to the new traffic control measures.

MAJOR traffic impact

Lane closures on New Circle Road are scheduled near the railroad bridge between Liberty Road and Young Drive. Work will be performed from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. through Thursday. One westbound lane will be closed, with one lane open at all times. The closures are needed for R.J. Corman Railroad Co. to complete sandblasting and painting of the bridge.

SIGNIFICANT TRAFFIC IMPACT

Old Paris Road will be closed between North Broadway and Strawberry Fields Road from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. through Sept. 23 while the overhead railroad bridge is refurbished. A suggested detour will be in place.

At least one travel lane of Cooper Drive will be open in each direction between University Drive and South Limestone while repairs are being made to the overhead pedway. Work will be performed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. through Sept. 30.

The inbound right lane of Harrodsburg Road will be blocked between Pasadena and Burbank drives Tuesday for utility work.

The eastbound center through lane of Waller Avenue will be closed at Audubon Avenue through Friday for utility work. Traffic will be diverted to the right through lane.

The left parking lane and the left travel lane of East Main Street will be blocked from Rose Street to South Martin Luther King Boulevard through Sept. 16 and for streetscape work.

One lane at a time of Clays Mill Road will be blocked between Twain Ridge Drive and Weber Way on Tuesday for milling and paving.

MODERATE TRAFFIC IMPACT

One lane at a time of Rose Lane will be closed at Transylvania Park on Tuesday and Wednesday for utility work.

The eastbound lane of Rosemont Garden will be closed at Cherrybark Drive on Tuesday for road work.

The eastbound lane of Russell Avenue will be blocked as needed between East Bell Court and Indiana Avenue through Sept. 16 for utility work.

The eastbound right turn lane of West Lowry Lane will be blocked at Norman Lane through Sept. 23 for utility work.

The parking lane on the west side of Bellaire Avenue will be blocked between West Sixth Street and the end of the street through Sept. 30 to install a water line.

One lane at a time of Delmar Avenue will be blocked between Russell and Boonesboro avenues through Sept. 16 for utility work.

The westbound lane of Oak Hill Drive will be blocked between Shawnee and Locust avenues through Sept. 16 for utility work.

The right lane of Morgan Avenue will be blocked at Bryan Avenue through Sept. 23 for utility work.

The right outbound lane of West Main Street will be blocked between North Broadway and Algonquin Street from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. through Sept. 15 for roof repairs to Victorian Square.
