This week's rainy weather has dampened the city's hopes of finishing the East Main Street sidewalk project this week. The project, which began in February, still needs five to seven fair-weather working days, according to project manager George Milligan.
"Rains yesterday put us a little bit behind schedule," he said. The weather delayed the concrete work on Main Street and Rose Street. Milligan also said the soil was too wet for landscaping. Milligan still hopes to mill the street Wednesday, which he says can be done even in light rain.
Weather delays do not affect the cost of the project because it is on a contract.
