Alcohol is thought to be a factor in a single-car wreck that killed a Midway man in Lexington Thursday.
Benito Hernandez-Duran died from multiple blunt-force trauma when his car drifted off South Yarnalton Road and hit a tree, according to a news release from the Fayette County coroner.
Hernandez-Duran, 29, apparently lost control of his 1999 Volkswagen Jetta about 4 a.m. as he was travelling northbound in the 600 block of South Yarnalton, between Old Frankfort Pike and Leestown Road.
The car drifted off the left side of the road and hit a tree. Hernandez-Duran was not wearing a seatbelt, Lexington police said in a news release.
