Attempt is made to trap coyote in Lexington subdivision

City officials were to be out Tuesday night trying to capture a coyote seen roaming in Tuscany subdivision near Hamburg Pavilion.

Councilman Kevin Stinnett said an animal control crew was to set traps to try to catch the coyote. If trapped it will be relocated, said Stinnett, who represents the areas.

Stinnett, speaking at a work session of the Lexington Fayette-County Urban County Council, urged homeowners to keep their dogs on the leash. The traps, he said, "don't know the difference between a coyote and a dog."

Residents have caught the critter on video in the last two weeks.
