A driver was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries following a three-car crash on Nicholasville Road in Lexington Thursday. The wreck happened about 7:30 p.m.
Police Lt. Scott Blakely said investigators think the injured person's car ran a red light while traveling outbound on Nicholasville Road. He said he thought the victim was a man.
The victim's passenger car apparently hit a vehicle that was turning left from Nicholasville Road onto Southland Drive. A third vehicle hit the passenger car after it bounced off the second vehicle.
The road was partially closed after the wreck while the police Collision Reconstruction Unit investigated.
