Short Street will be closed between the Fayette District and Circuit Courthouses and one lane of Limestone will be closed along the Robert F. Stephens Courthouse Plaza from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday for the Lexington Pride Festival.
Weather permitting, the Division of Traffic Engineering will install four-way stop signs and pavement markings at Old Rosebud Road and Ogden Way on Thursday. Motorists should use caution in the area until traffic adjusts to the change.
Traffic could be congested downtown near the Fifth-Third Bank Pavilion at Cheapside Park from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday for Thursday Night Live.
The Division of Engineering issued land disturbance (grading) permits for the following addresses June 15-21: 3600 Winthrop Drive, 3105 Blackford Parkway, 740 West New Circle Road and 2348 Innovation Drive. Permits are issued for six months and can include some blasting.
SIGNIFICANT TRAFFIC IMPACT
The right lane of East High Street will be closed at South Mill Street on Monday for signal pole repairs.
On Nicholasville Road, the right outbound lane will be blocked between Lackawanna Road and Goodrich Avenue and the right inbound lane will be blocked between Johnson Avenue and Hiltonia Park from Wednesday through Friday for catch basin maintenance work.
The center through lane of East Main Street will be blocked at South Limestone Street from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. Wednesday to utility work in a manhole.
The right turn lane of the East New Circle Road ramp onto outbound Richmond Road will be blocked through Friday for utility work in a manhole.
One lane at a time of South Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard will be blocked between East Maxwell Street and the Avenue of Champions from Monday through Friday for milling and paving.
One lane at a time of South Upper Street will be blocked between East Maxwell Street and East High Street from Monday through Friday for milling and paving.
The inside inbound and outbound lanes of Winchester Road will be blocked at Helm Street from Monday through Friday to replace the median with an inbound left turn lane.
There will be a rolling blockage on Rose Street between East Maxwell Street and the Avenue of Champions that will block a lane and the center area and divert traffic to the sides from Monday through Wednesday to replace manhole covers.
The right two lanes of East Main Street will be closed between South Limestone and South Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard Saturday to place artwork on top of Downtown Arts Center/Lexington Laundry Building.
One lane at a time of Clays Mill Road will be closed between Keithshire Way and Cromwell Way from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Saturday as part of the Clays Mill Road widening project.
The right outbound lane of Richmond Road will be closed between Fontaine Road and East New Circle Road through July 1 to replace utility poles.
MODERATE TRAFFIC IMPACT
One lane at a time of Angliana Avenue will be blocked between Curry Avenue and Versailles Road through July 13 for utility work.
The southbound lane of Southern Avenue will be blocked between American Avenue and the end of the street on Monday and Tuesday for sewer work.
The westbound lane of Sparks Road will be closed between Delaware Avenue and Lagonda Avenue through July 4 for utility work.
The sidewalk area of North Mill Street will be closed at West Short Street 24 hours a day through Saturday for construction work.
One lane at a time of Morgan Avenue between Bryan Avenue and Oak Hill Drive will be blocked 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. through Saturday for sewer work.
FOURTH OF JULY
Lexington's Fourth of July celebration will have the following impact on traffic on downtown streets:
July 3: Third Street will be closed between Upper Street and Broadway from 5 to 11 p.m., and Short Street will be closed from Market Street to Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard from 6:30 to 9 p.m.
July 4: These streets will be closed at these times:
■ Main Street from Midland Avenue to Mill Street, 5 to 11 a.m. for the Bluegrass 10,000 foot race.
■ Main Street from Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard to Mill Street, 5 a.m. to 6 p.m. for the street festival.
■ Main Street from Midland Avenue to Broadway, 1:45 to 4 p.m. for the parade.
■ Main Street from Broadway to Jefferson Street, 4 to 11 p.m. for the July 4th Live! concert.
■ Short Street from Mill Street to Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard; Limestone from Vine Street to Barr Street; and Upper Street from Church Street to Vine Street, 5 a.m. to 9 p.m.
■ Midland Avenue from East Third Street to Main Street, 11:45 a.m. to 4 p.m.
■ Short Street from Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard to Eastern Avenue; Vine Street from Broadway to Midland Avenue; and Limestone from High Street to Vine Street, 7 to 11 a.m.
■ Rose Street from High Street to Short Street, 7 to 11 a.m. and 1:30 to 4 p.m.
■ Quality Street from Main Street to Water Street and Esplanade from Main to Short Street, 5 to 11 a.m. and 2 to 4 p.m.
