Traffic report, week of Sept. 3

Traffic could be congested in the downtown area near Fifth-Third Pavilion at Cheapside Park from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday. This is for Central Bank Thursday Night Live.

The Division of Engineering issued land disturbance (grading) permits for the following addresses from Aug. 24-30: 233 Grassland Park, 4127 Todds Road, 800 Hughes Lane, 4633 Windstar Way, 509 Ravenna Lane, 2500 Alumni Drive, 1281 Deer Haven Lane, 229 Somersly Place, 237 Somersly Place and 241 Somersly Place. Permits are issued for six months and can include some blasting.

The right turn lane of the East New Circle Road off ramp will be blocked at outbound Richmond Road from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. Tuesday through Sept. 14 for work in a manhole.

Both lanes of Cedar Street will be blocked between South Broadway and Plunkett Street through Friday for sewer work.

The northbound right lane of North Broadway will be blocked between West Main Street and West Short Street from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. through Friday for maintenance work to the Festival Market Building.

The right inbound shoulder and travel lane of Newtown Pike will be blocked between Ash Street and Michigan Street through Thursday for sewer work.

The right outbound lane of Tates Creek Road will be blocked between Albany Road and Malabu Drive through Sept. 14 to replace utility poles.


The right curb lane of Eastland Drive will be blocked between East New Circle Road and Murray Drive in front of Mi Mexico Restaurant from Tuesday through Friday for utility work.

One lane of Helm Street will be blocked at Winchester Road from Tuesday through Friday for utility work.

The eastbound lane of Booker Street will be blocked at Newtown Pike through Monday for sewer work.

The right off-street parking lane of south Martin Luther King Boulevard will be blocked at East Maxwell Street through Sept. 18 for work at Good Samaritan Hospital.

Zesta Place will be closed at the railroad tracks at Winchester Road through noon Tuesday to repair the railroad crossing.
