The annual Fire Prevention Parade, Festival and Run from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday will cause the closing of these downtown streets: Midland Avenue; Main Street from Woodland Avenue to Limestone; Short Street from Broadway to Midland Avenue; Second Street from Broadway to Midland Avenue; Elm Tree Lane from Vine to Fifth streets; Fifth Street from Elm Tree Lane to Upper Street; Fourth Street from Limestone to Broadway; Third Street from Upper Street to Broadway; and Mill Street from Third to Main streets.
Traffic around Rupp Arena could be congested Friday for Big Blue Madness, which starts at 7:30 p.m. Motorists should use caution and watch for pedestrians.

SIGNIFICANT TRAFFIC IMPACT
The outbound right lane of Richmond Road will be blocked from Shriners Lane to Fontaine Road through Friday and Oct. 20 and 27 to remove brush along the right of way.
The westbound inner lane of Man O' War Boulevard will be blocked at Richmond Road through Friday to replace catch basins.
The westbound right lane of Man O' War Boulevard will be blocked between Winthrop Drive and Boston Road through Friday for sidewalk repair.
The outbound right lane of Newtown Pike will be blocked at Michigan Street through Thursday for infrastructure work.
The inbound right lane of Newtown Pike will be blocked between West Loudon Avenue and Georgetown Street through Thursday for infrastructure work.
The outbound lane of Georgetown Street will be blocked between Newtown Pike and Booker Street from Wednesday through Oct. 15 for infrastructure work.
On Newtown Pike, the outbound left turn lane at Georgetown Street and the inbound right lane between Georgetown Street and Charles Avenue will be blocked Wednesday through Oct. 15 for infrastructure work.
One lane at a time of Buchanan Street will be closed as needed between West Main Street and the end of the street through Oct. 31 to replace utility poles.
The outbound right lane of West Main Street will be blocked between Newtown Pike and Buchanan Street through Oct. 31 to replace utility poles.
The outbound right lane of Richmond Road will be blocked between Mount Tabor Road and Patchen Drive through Friday for utility work.
The left lane of West Maxwell Street will be blocked between Merino Street and South Broadway through Friday, for utility work.
There will be a rolling closure of the right lane of inbound or outbound Tates Creek Road between Dove Run and Turkey Foot roads through Oct. 19 to relocate street lights.
MODERATE TRAFFIC IMPACT
The eastbound lane of Ash Street could be blocked at Newtown Pike through Thursday for infrastructure work.
Booker Street will be closed as needed at Newtown Pike through Thursday for infrastructure work.
Cedar Street will be narrowed to one lane between South Broadway and Plunkett Street through Friday for utility work.
One lane at a time of the following streets will be blocked as needed from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday for milling and paving: Biloxi Court from Eastland Parkway to the end of the street; Brighton Place Drive between Chetford and Andover Forest drives; Charleston Court from Eastland Parkway to the end of the street; and Roosevelt Boulevard from Georgetown Street to the end of the street.
The westbound lane of Manchester Street will be blocked at Pine Street through Friday for sewer work.
The southbound lane of Perry Street will be blocked between Manchester and Edmond streets from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. through Oct. 31 for utility work.
