The Hill Rise area of Lexington suffered another apartment fire early Saturday morning, though investigators have not determined if it was arson.
Firefighters were called to 708 Hill Rise Court around 1 a.m. Battalion chief Andy Areaux said smoke was visible and the building was evacuated, but damage was confined to the unit where the fire took place. Areaux said no one was in the apartment at the time.
Hill Rise and the Messner Home Complex, a private facility for men who are troubled or mentally disabled, suffered a spate of intentionally set fires in 2012, including six on May 12 and 12 arsons in December 2011 and January 2012. Several arrests were made in connection with those fires.
Saturday evening, Areaux, who was on duty Saturday at the time of the fire, said he had not received an investigator's report regarding the cause of the fire.
