Lexington traffic report: Week of Aug. 5

Work done between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., unless otherwise noted


Some congestion can be expected beginning at 4:30 p.m. Thursday for Central Bank Thursday Night Live near the Fifth-Third Pavilion at Cheapside Park.

The following streets will be closed 6 to 11 p.m. Saturday for the Midsummer Night's Run: Vine Street, Main Street and part of Short Street.

The Division of Engineering issued grading permits during the period July 26-Aug. 1, for the following addresses: 186 Simpson Avenue, 231 Willard Street, 233 Willard Street, 274 East Fourth Street, 1973 Falling Leaves Lane, 1977 Falling Leaves Lane, 1805 Browning Trace, 276 Old Mt. Tabor Road, 3889 Wentworth Place, 3891 Wentworth Place, 3893 Wentworth Place and 170 North Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. Permits are issued for six months and can include some blasting.


Some lanes of the following streets will be closed for milling and paving through Friday: Hartland Parkway between Tates Creek Road and Amhurst Drive; Fieldmoor Drive between Rockbridge Road and Four Wynds Trail; Kenesaw Drive between Armstrong Mill Road and Buckhorn Drive; Lakefront Drive between Springlake Drive and cul de sac; Magna Oak Drive between Kenesaw Drive and cul de sac; Mount Foraker Drive at Mount McKinley Way; Mount McKinley Way between Man o' War Boulevard and Mount Foraker Drive; Rockbridge Road between Tates Creek Road and Fieldmoor Drive; and Sutherland Drive at High Hope Road.

DeRoode Street will be closed between Versailles Road and McKinley Street through Dec. 31, for work on the Newtown Pike extension project. Motorists can access the neighborhood from Merino Street to McKinley Street to Byars Alley.

The right outbound lane of East Reynolds Road will be blocked at Nicholasville Road on Tuesday for utility work.

Fontaine Road will be closed between Catalpa Road and Ridgeway Road through Thursday for storm sewer work. Detour signs are in place.

Grimes Mill Road will be closed at McCalls Mill Road on the Clark County line through Dec. 31 for demolition and construction of a new bridge.

The street and sidewalk of Lexington Avenue will be blocked between the Avenue of Champions and East Maxwell Street through Monday for sewer work.
