Police name 'person of interest' in shooting at Swahili Elks Lodge

Lexington police were still searching Saturday for a man who might have been involved in a shooting that left a woman severely injured at the Swahili Elks Lodge on Friday night.

Wendell Dixon is considered a "person of interest" in the case, said Lt. Chris Young of the Lexington police.

Police who were called to the club at 1203 Versailles Road about 8:30 p.m. Friday found a woman suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. She was taken to University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital.

The woman's name has not been released, and no further information was available about her condition Saturday.
