Councilwoman Jennifer Mossotti announced Monday that she will seek another term representing the 9th District.
Mossotti, a commercial and residential real estate agent, had been the 9th District council member from 1997 to 2004, and she was elected to her current position in 2012. The 9th District includes the Stonewall and Robinwood neighborhoods.
In her re-election announcement, Mossotti, 59, cited her leadership in efforts to end the city's fire station "brown-outs," which temporarily closed some fire stations, as a key accomplishment during her tenure. Economic development and creating well-paying jobs is one of her top priorities, she said. Mossotti said she plans to file her election papers with the Fayette County Clerk's office this week.
