Shelters in Lexington will remain open over the weekend to help residents as weather forecasters predict more snow and continued cold temperatures.
All shelters in town have been at or were over capacity the past few nights because of the bitter cold.
Friday afternoon, officials said the West End Community Center, 913 Georgetown Street, will be open through the weekend as a shelter. It opened at 7:30 Friday night and will remain open until 7:30 a.m. Monday, they said.
