The Fayette Circuit Court clerk's driver's license office, the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet and the Kentucky State Police have partnered to offer a one-stop location for driver's licensing services in a new office at 1591 Winchester Road, Suite 103.
The office, adjacent to Spencerian College in the Village East Shopping Center, opens Monday.
The Fayette Circuit Court clerk's driver's license office and driver's license-related offices operated by the state police and the Transportation Cabinet at 162 West Main Street have closed.
At the new location, the Circuit Court clerk will provide driver's license renewals and state police will conduct road testing, driver's permit tests and other licensing-related activities; the location will also house the Transportation Cabinet's Division of Driver Licensing, Hearings and Reinstatement Office.

The move was necessary because the old location on Main Street was inadequate to meet Fayette County's growing needs, the circuit court clerk's office said in a news release.
The new arrangement will save money and will be more convenient for the public, with plenty of free parking and no steps or elevators, according to the release.
The clerk's offices will now be open two Saturdays a month for driver's licensing renewals, a change made possible by the new location, said Circuit Court Clerk Vincent Riggs.
The office on Winchester Road will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays and 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays. It will be open for license renewals from 9 a.m. to noon on the first Saturday of each month, excluding holidays.
The clerk's office at 2519 Regency Road is open for license renewals from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and from 9 a.m. to noon on the third Saturday of the month, excluding holidays.
