Lexington council approves immediate ban on e-cigarettes in bars, restaurants and most other workplaces

Lexington on Thursday became the eighth Kentucky community to add electronic cigarettes to a ban on smoking in most indoor work spaces.

The Urban County Council unanimously approved an ordinance that bans e-cigarettes from bars, restaurants and most other workplaces. It takes effect immediately.

In 2004, Lexington was one of the first cities in Kentucky to pass a smoking ban.
