A male pedestrian suffered life-threatening injuries when he was hit by an SUV at a Man o' War Boulevard intersection on Friday night.
Police Lt. Jesse Harris said officers were called at 7:22 p.m. after a male was hit by a black Nissan SUV as he tried to cross the street at the intersection of Man o' War and Saron Drive.
The victim, whom police did not immediately identify, was taken to University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital with life-threatening head injures. The driver of the SUV told police he had the green light, Harris said.
Harris said the person who was hit had friends with him. The driver was shaken up, but was cooperating with police, Harris said. Reporters overheard the driver on his cellphone crying and repeating, "He came out of nowhere."
