Police investigated after an SUV struck a pedestrian at Man o' War Boulevard and Saron Drive.

The pedestrian hit by an SUV at Man o' War Boulevard and Saron Drive on Friday night, a teenage boy, was in serious condition Saturday at University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital.

The boy's mother, Kim Wade, told WKYT that her son, Mason Wade, 14, suffered facial and pelvic fractures and had bleeding in his brain after being struck.

Mason and some friends had been crossing the street when Mason was hit.

The driver of the SUV told police he had the green light, police Lt. Jesse Harris said Friday.

Mason is on the eighth-grade football team at Lexington Christian Academy and also plays baseball, his mother said.
