The week ahead: events to watch out for Nov. 17-23

Big foes await UK women ...

The women take on No. 8 Baylor (7 p.m. ESPN2) at Rupp Arena. Remember the last time they met in the regular season? It was a four overtime thriller that the Cats won last year.

... and men

The UK men travel to Indianapolis to face No. 5 Kansas in the Champions Classic. (9 p.m. ESPN)

Share a laugh with Coach Cal

Coach John Calipari and WWE Hall of Famer Ted DiBiase will co-host an evening of entertainment at 7:30 p.m. at Rupp Arena. Performers include comedians Bill Engvall, Sinbad, Henry Cho and Mark Christopher Lawrence. Illusionist Curt Anderson also will perform. The event will benefit the Calipari Foundation, Global Sports Aid Network and Samaritan's Feet. ($35-$75. Rupparena.com)

Don't skip the last Gallery Hop of the year

Especially since it will include our own Chris Ware, whose illustrations include everything critters to politicians and celebrities. From 5 to 8 p.m. hop over to 100 Midland Avenue, or any of the other free galleries on the tour. Maps are available at Galleryhoplex.com.

More then 1 million lights await

Southern Lights, the 3-mile tour of holiday light displays, opens at the Kentucky Horse Park and will run 5:30 to 10 p.m. through Dec. 31. It's $15 for personal vehicles Sunday to Thursday; $20 Friday and Saturday; $30 extended vans and limousines. (Kyhorsepark.com)
