The Fayette County Public School board began meeting at 10 a.m. Saturday to review three applications for a superintendent search firm.
The board is working to replace Tom Shelton whose resignation became effective in December. Shelton is now the executive director of the Kentucky Association of School Superintendents.
Board members are reviewing the firms on criteria that includes competence, capacity, experience and cost.
The superintendent search firms under consideration are the Illinois- based Hazard, Young, Attea and Associates also known as ECRA Group Inc., the Kentucky School Boards Association and a company called PROACT Search.
