Lexington traffic report, week of June 1

SPECIAL NOTES

The Division of Traffic Engineering will install multiway stop signs and pavement markings at Mark Avenue and Cathy Lane on Tuesday, weather permitting. Motorists should use caution while traffic adapts to the new control measures.

MAJOR TRAFFIC IMPACT

Alumni Drive from Nicholasville to Tates Creek roads will be closed 24 hours a day to through traffic through Sept. 1 to reconfigure and upgrade the roadway and add two roundabouts. Local access will be maintained.

North Upper Street between West Short and West Main streets will be closed 24 hours a day through July 31 for material staging and building renovation on the 21C Museum Hotel. Traffic will be detoured to North Martin Luther King Boulevard. Additionally, the right lane of West Main Street between Limestone and Upper Street will be closed 24 hours a day through June 15. Two lanes and a left turn lane will remain open.

Rose Street between Columbia Avenue and Huguelet Drive will be closed 24 hours a day through Sept. 1 for construction of UK's new science building. Local access will be provided for Funkhouser Drive.

SIGNIFICANT TRAFFIC IMPACT

One lane at a time of Clays Mill Road between Keithshire Way and Waco Road will be blocked 24 hours a day through July 31 for the widening project.

One lane of North Upper Street at West Seventh Street will be blocked as needed through Friday for utility work.

The left inbound and left turn lane of South Limestone between Prall and Montmullin streets will be blocked through Tuesday for emergency sewer repairs.

The eastbound lane of Todds Road between Cypress Point Way and Hays Boulevard will be blocked through June 19 for utility work.

MODERATE TRAFFIC IMPACT

Sidewalks along Conn Terrace and State Street between Elizabeth Street and Nicholasville Road will be blocked 24 hours a day through Nov. 25 for construction of Shriners Hospital.

Habersham Drive between Tangley Way and Kenlock Drive is closed to through traffic through June 12 for storm sewer work.

The southbound right lane of Hays Boulevard at Todds Road is blocked through June 29 for utility work.

The southbound right lane and sidewalk of Polo Club Boulevard between Ice House and Passage Mound ways will be blocked through Friday for utility work.

The northbound lanes of South Martin Luther King Boulevard between Avenue of Champions and East Maxwell Street will be closed through Friday for construction work.

One lane of West Sixth Street between Jefferson Street and the end of the street will be blocked 24 hours a day through June 12 for construction of Coolavin Trail.
