A Lexington man was killed in a two-car crash in the city Friday night.
John Herkamp, 73, died from injuries sustained in a wreck at the intersection of Clays Mill Road and Wyndham Hills Drive, according to the Fayette County coroner's office.
Lexington police Lt. Andrew Daugherty said emergency crews were called to the intersection at 7:28 p.m. after Herkamp, who was driving a red Ford Mustang, collided with a silver-colored Buick as he was attempting a left turn onto Wyndham Hills Drive. The woman who was driving the Buick was traveling up Clays Mills Road when their vehicles collided.
Herkamp died at University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital. The woman was taken to the UK hospital with leg injuries, Daughtery said.
