Fayette County residents still hoping to change their party affiliations in time for the 2016 primary don’t have many options.
New Year’s Eve is the deadline to have all forms submitted into the Fayette County clerk’s office to change to a new party and vote in the new party’s primary.
The office will be closed for the holiday. However, as long as the forms, available here, are mailed in and postmarked by Dec. 31, the office will be able to process the switch.
Kentucky’s primary election will be held on May 17.
