The YMCA of Central Kentucky will present free fitness classes at Triangle Park, 400 West Main Street, Lexington. The 15-week series, led by YMCA fitness instructors, will include an hour of yoga on Tuesdays and boot camp on Thursdays, beginning at 6:30 a.m., from Tuesday through Sept. 1.
Benefits of yoga include increased flexibility, strengthened and toned muscles, improved respiration, weight reduction and improved metabolism. Boot camp offers a combination of cardio and body weight exercises, which burn calories and improve conditioning.
All ages and fitness levels are welcome. Bring a yoga mat or beach towel, since exercises will take place in the grassy area. Classes will be canceled during inclement weather.
