SummerFest: ‘As You Like It’

Kentucky Conservatory Theatre brings its annual outdoor season back to Woodland Park with its production of Shakespeare’s classic comedy. Gates open at 7 p.m., show time is 8:45 p.m. Thursday through Sunday, June 30 through July 3 and July 14 through 17. General admission tickets are $10. Bring a chair or a blanket. Or rent a chair for $5 when you purchase your ticket. (Mykct.org)

Great American Pie Contest and Ice Cream Social

Lexington gets the Fourth of July party started with a sweet lunchtime treat. Free pie sampling and ice cream will be served up starting at noon at Cheapside Park, 251 West Main Street. (Downtownlex.com)

There she is …

Thirty women from across the state vie to be crowned Miss Kentucky and take one step closer to being Miss America. (Trivia: The only Miss Kentucky to be crowned Miss America was Heather French Henry, in 1999.) Preliminaries are Thursday and Friday at 7 p.m. ($35); finals are 6 p.m. Saturday ($65). Patriotic concert at Transylvania

Bring out your lawn chairs and picnic blankets to celebrate our nation’s independence at the annual Patriotic Music Concert featuring the Lexington Philharmonic. 8 p.m. Transylvania University, on lawn of Old Morrison Building, and Gratz Park. Free.

 

Last call for the Bluegrass 10K

Last chance registration and packet pick up for the Bluegrass 10K will be held from 3-7 p.m. at the Parks & Recreation Administration Offices, 469 Parkway Drive. No registration or packet pick up will be available on race day.
