Frankfort police obtain arrest warrant in fatal shooting

Frankfort police have obtained an arrest warrant, charging a man in a fatal shooting at a Frankfort apartment complex Wednesday.

Marvin Boomer, 28, of Frankfort is accused of shooting Jonathan Stewart, 25, just after midnight Tuesday, Frankfort police Maj. Fred Deaton said. Police initially had wanted to question Boomer about the shooting. Boomer is now facing a murder charge upon his arrest.

Officers responding to reports of shots fired found Stewart lying near a playground at Hickory Hills Manor Apartments at 120 Marlowe Court with a gunshot wound to the torso. He died shortly after being taken to Frankfort Regional Medical Center.

Boomer is known to drive a gray or primer gray '80s model Oldsmobile Cutlass or Chevrolet Monte Carlo with large 22-inch to 26-inch rims. He is 5-foot-9 and about 205 pounds. Police consider him armed and dangerous.
