FRANKFORT — The U.S. Marshals Service has arrested a man wanted for playing a role in the shooting death of a Frankfort man.
Frankfort police Maj. Fred Deaton said during a news conference Thursday that the marshals arrested Frank Robert Witkowski, 44, on Oct. 25 in Detroit.
Deaton would not discuss details about Witkowski's arrest. Witkowski, a native of Detroit, is scheduled to return to Kentucky early next week, Deaton said.
Witkowski will be charged with complicity to commit murder.
Deaton has said Witkowski "provided assistance" in the death of Obie Murphy, who was shot during an altercation at a home on Sept. 13.
No one has been charged with Murphy's slaying.
Police have not said what caused the shooting or said how the men knew each other.
On Thursday, Deaton said investigators are searching for a man who is considered a person of interest.
Investigators do not know the man's identity.
Deaton said the man goes by "Q" and is a black male about 5-foot-10 to 6 feet tall and 130 to 150 pounds. He is in his late 20s or early 30s.
Anyone with information is asked to call Frankfort police at (502) 875-8523 or Franklin County Crime Stoppers at (502) 875-8648.
