A Nicholasville man was sentenced Thursday to seven years in federal prison after the FBI found more than 20,000 images of child pornography on his home computer, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.
Jeffery Max Treadway, 37, had pleaded guilty to distributing child porn. The thousands of images on Treadway's computer were found after investigators traced the source of various files available for download from the Web in 2013, according to a news release from the FBI and Kerry B. Harvey, U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Kentucky.
Some of the images included children younger than 12 engaged in sexually explicit conduct.
"Treadway admitted that some of the images depicted adults sexually abusing children," according to the news release.
Under the sentence, handed down by U.S. District Judge Karen Caldwell, Treadway must serve at least 85 percent of his sentence. After his release, he is to be supervised by the U.S. Probation Office for 25 years.
