5 young adults injured, one critically, in Jessamine wreck

Five young adults were injured early Sunday after a Chevy Blazer ran off a road and rolled down an embankment in Jessamine County, according to the sheriff's office.

Morgan Walker, 19, of Nicholasville was taken by helicopter to University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital, Chief Deputy Allen Peel said in a news release. Walker was listed in critical condition Sunday night, according to a hospital spokeswoman.

Others injured and taken to UK were Kayla Brinegar, 18, of Lancaster; David Cheek, 19, of Wilmore; and Damian Rucker, 20, and Frank Peel, 19, both of Nicholasville, the release said. Frank Peel, who is not related to Deputy Allen Peel, was the driver.

As of Sunday night, Cheek and Frank Peel were in fair condition, while Brinegar and Rucker had been discharged, the UK spokeswoman said.

The Blazer ran off River Road, and deputies responded to the single-vehicle crash shortly before 3:30 a.m. Sunday.
