Jessamine County: Women Republicans to hold awards ceremony

Women Republicans of Central Kentucky will hold a WROCK STARZ awards ceremony for women who have taken their time to give back to the Republican Party and communities. A luncheon will be at 11:30 a.m. Dec. 8 at Equestrian Woods Clubhouse, 107 Clubhouse Drive, Nicholasville.

Donations will be accepted for the Florence Crittenton Home. There will be a silent auction with baked goods, wine and gift baskets. The cost is $25 and includes lunch. RSVP to rsvp@wrock.ws by Sunday. Visit Wrock.ws for more details.

Local leaders visit Morristown, Tenn.

Business and community leaders from Jessamine County visited Morristown, Tenn., in early November. The group selected Morristown to observe what innovations a city of similar size to Nicholasville could share about city planning, growth, education and other areas. The annual Leaders' Visit is sponsored by the Jessamine County Chamber of Commerce.

Christmas drama in Wilmore

Mt. Freedom Baptist Church will present Behold the Lamb at 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 12, at the church, 100 South Lexington Avenue, Wilmore. A reception will follow the performance in the Fellowship Hall. Info: (859) 858-3422.
