Three Central Kentucky men were charged in the Sept. 18 robbery of a man near Wilmore, the Jessamine County sheriff's office said Thursday in a news release.
Keith T. Gaines, 24, of Nicholasville, Emilio Hernandez, 18, of Georgetown and Steven Lee Gregory, 21, of Lexington each were charged with first-degree robbery and second-degree assault.
They are accused of robbing a 21-year-old man as he walked along Glass Mill Road near Figg Lane. The three were in a vehicle that came upon the victim walking along the road, and they stopped to strip the victim of his clothes, cut him with knives, and then steal an undisclosed amount of cash, said Chief Deputy Allen Peel.
After putting back on his clothes, the victim was able to get a ride with a motorist. The victim was treated at University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital and released. He was not identified.
Hernandez was arrested Wednesday; Gaines and Gregory were arrested some days ago, Peel said. Gregory has a preliminary hearing scheduled Monday in Jessamine District Court, at which time a judge will hear evidence to determine whether the case should go to a grand jury for possible indictment.
Gregory and Hernandez are being held in the Jessamine County jail, and Gaines was moved to the Casey County jail, Peel said.
