Jessamine County fire officials were looking for a horseback rider who reportedly was swept away while crossing a stream Saturday night.

The man was crossing a creek near Brumfield Lane off Little Hickman Road at about 8 p.m., a Jessamine County dispatcher said.

The horse was found and was unhurt, but firefighters were still looking for the rider at 11 p.m.

Employees from the sheriff's office were no longer on the scene. A shift supervisor for the sheriff's department declined to provide information about the incident.
