State police have arrested a Nicholasville man on child pornography charges.
Nathan Vitai, 26, is charged with 20 counts of possession of matter portraying a sex performance by a minor; one count of distribution of matter portraying a sex performance by a minor, first offense; and tampering with physical evidence.
State police detectives with the electronic crime branch began investigating in April "after they discovered a suspect sharing images of child sexual exploitation over the Internet," according to a news release from state police.
State police executed a search warrant at Vitai's home in Nicholasville and, after previewing the electronic media taken from the home, arrested Vitai Monday morning.
He was being held in the Jessamine County Detention Center on $10,000 cash bond.
