One driver suffered life-threatening injuries Tuesday after a box truck crashed into the rear of a tractor-trailer at a busy U.S. 27 intersection, Nicholasville police said.
The box-truck driver, who was not identified, was airlifted to University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital, said Officer Kevin Grimes with Nicholasville police.
The crash happened at about 2 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. 27 and Catnip Hill Road north of downtown Nicholasville.
The nortbound tractor-trailer was in the center turn lane and was waiting to make a left turn into a BP station when the northbound box truck crashed into the tractor-trailer.
