Two pedestrians were hit and killed by vehicles Monday in separate accidents in Madison County.
Eileen M. Powell, 56, of Richmond was hit by a vehicle behind the Kroger store in Richmond.
She was struck at 2:54 p.m. by a Toyota Tacoma driven by Edna G. Alexander, 28, of Berea, as the truck tried to turn from the Kroger lot onto Berea Road, according to Richmond police.
Powell was pronounced dead at Baptist Health Richmond.

Sean Powell, 44, of Berea was hit about 8:30 p.m. on Mount Vernon Road, about a mile from the Berea city limits, Madison County Coroner Jimmy Cornelison said. Powell died at the scene.
Shauna Phillips, 28, of Paint Lick, was driving north when Powell walked into the path of her vehicle, according to state police.
Police said they are still investigating the cause of the collision. They do not believe Phillips was under the influence of alcohol.
Eileen Powell and Sean Powell are not thought to be related, Cornelison said.
