A Madison County man was charged Wednesday in connection with the sexual abuse of a child, Berea police said.
John Lunsford, 26, allegedly had sexual contact with a child younger than 12, Berea police spokesman Sgt. Jake Reed said in a release.
The alleged abuse occurred over a period of several months. Officers were assisted by the state in the investigation.
Lunsford was charged with four counts of first-degree sodomy and six counts of first-degree sexual abuse. Lunsford was lodged in the Madison County Detention Center in Richmond. No bond had been set as of Wednesday afternoon.
