A Madison County man was charged with first-degree wanton endangerment and other offenses after Kentucky State Police said he left an injured companion in his 2000 Ford Ranger after hitting a utility pole.
The wreck happened Saturday night on Drowning Creek Road. When police arrived, they found Kathleen Kendrick, 39, of Waco with what they described as serious injuries.

The driver, Randy Adams, 40, was later found at his home in Waco. He was treated at Pattie A. Clay Hospital, then taken to the Madison County Detention Center.
Besides wanton endangerment, Adams was charged with driving under the influence, leaving the scene of an accident, driving while his license was suspended for previous DUI convictions, no insurance, and having an open container.
Kendrick was in fair condition Sunday at University of Kentucky Hospital.
