A man was shot in the back Sunday during a robbery and burglary of his Richmond apartment, police said.
The victim, who was not identified by Richmond police, was treated at University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington for a non-life-threatening injury.
About 11:30 a.m. Sunday, two men armed with handguns entered an unlocked apartment in the 100 block of South Killarney Lane and demanded money, Richmond police said.
The victim told investigators that he tried to get a handgun of his own from a nearby bedroom, but he was shot in the back.

The two robbers then took $300 to $400 from two wallets in a bedroom, along with the victim's handgun, and left. A female resident of the apartment was not hurt.
One robber was described as a short black man with a heavy build, a thin mustache, and two silver lower teeth. He was dressed in blue jeans and wore a button-down hat.
The other was a black man who was between 6 feet and 6 feet 2 inches tall, light-skinned and with dreadlocks just past the ear.
