A federal judge sentenced a Richmond man on Friday to 30 years in prison after citing the man's lengthy history of sexual abuse of children and his distribution of thousands of child porn images, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Kentucky.
Kenneth Rowe, 61, was charged with two counts of distribution of child porn.
During sentencing, U.S. Chief District Court Judge Jennifer B. Coffman said the public needed protection from Rowe, according to a news release.
"I will not take the chance and put one more child at risk," Coffman said. "If even one more child is abused then I haven't done my job."

Rowe, who owned a dental lab in Lexington, admitted he downloaded and distributed child pornography between October and November in 2009, the release said. An investigation by Kentucky State Police and the FBI found more than 5,000 photos and more than 20 videos containing child porn on Rowe's computer.
