A Richmond man was killed in a head-on collision with a tractor trailer Wednesday.
Robert E. McConnell, 59, was killed after his Jeep Cherokee crossed the center line on Ky. 627 about a mile off I-75 in Madison County, hitting the semi, according to a news release from state police.
The driver of the semi, Terry L. Moore of Hendersonville, Tenn., was taken to Pattie A. Clay Regional Medical Center with minor injuries.
Upon hitting the semi in the southbound lane, McConnell's vehicle crossed back into the northbound lane and into the emergency lane, hitting the guardrail. The Jeep came to rest facing south just off the shoulder against the guardrail.
